Current Hair Routine

I am really enjoying the results of my current hair care routine. I'm getting nice, soft, healthy, glowing locks.... and I'm loving it.

I start off with Avalon Organics Biotin B-Complex Therapy Thickening Shampoo. It has a light minty smell and lathers well. Once that is rinsed out I lather up again with their Volumizing Rosemary Shampoo. This one also has a light minty fragrance and nice lather. My hair really feels squeaky clean when I'm finished washing.

Those are followed by Avalon Organics Strengthening Peppermint Conditioner. This one smells like candy canes. I comb in the conditioner and leave it in for a few minutes before rinsing it out.

For every other wash, I also use Shea Moisture's Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque with Sea Kelp & Argan Oil. I will not lie, Shea Moisture's products (the ones I've tried) do not smell pleasant to me. The smell of this particular hair mask isn't too bad and I love the results. So it's well worth the time and extra effort. Once it's combed in I leave it in for about 5 minutes before it is rinsed out.

I like to blow dry and curl my hair on wash days and I'm really impressed with Alterna's Bamboos Smooth Kendi Oil Dry Oil Mist. (Make sure to put towels on the floor before you spray this, it makes everything slick.... and I do mean everything!!) You just spray it on damp hair and blow dry as usual. I use the upside down method and when I flip it over I generally have a frizzy mop to tame. Using this Kendi spray really took control of the frizz. I really don't have to straighten or curl it if I don't have the time.

Generally I do still use the curling iron to straighten at the roots and curl the ends. I don't use any other finishing spray and I am able to go 3-4 days between washing and I don't need to use any other styling tools between washes. I simply brush it out each morning and go.

This is the routine I've been using for most of the month. Unfortunately, I'm almost out of the shampoos. Do you have a natural/organic shampoo recommendation? Tell me about it in the comment section below.
